New Plymouth Wedding shoot: An Elegant Floral Garden Affair

Elegant styling shoot focused on flowers and set in the heart of New Plymouth

We have been sitting on this styling shoot for quite awhile and very excited to be able share it with the world and offer some inspiration of styling and the skills and talent amongst local Taranaki vendors.

Amidst the beautiful gardens of the venue 48 Kairau in New Plymouth, this collaborative photoshoot was created. It was a day when elegance met creativity in the heart of a breathtaking garden, all orchestrated by the hands of a talented team.

The brainchild of Romea from Fleck and Forest Photography, and co-styled by myself, Rebecca, New Plymouth florist of Pineapple Sage. We had a vision that exuded elegance, sophistication, and a serene softness set against the backdrop of a stunning garden.

The garden itself seemed enchanted and ever so romantic, its lush greens, grand drive and rose blossoms serving as the perfect backdrop for an elegant celebration of love. Soft whispers of cream, lemons and green hues adorned every corner, and we were relieved and for the graceful afternoon spring sunlight, as the forecast was for heavy rain and strong winds.

The choice of venue was pivotal, and the garden became our canvas. Its tranquil setting provided the perfect scene for our vision. Soft greens and creams adorned the table settings, harmonizing effortlessly with the natural surroundings. We chose beautiful linen from Tble, furniture and dinnerware from Stellar Events and on trend signage by Three Sisters Studio. All the table decor was meticuously chosen to match the surroundings and we were jumping with delight when we saw it all come together in the drive and especially below the magical large weeping beech tree

Leticia looked drop dead gorgeous in her Liah Roebuck gown, and the way the light hit the soft billowy sleeves was stunning! Matched with the carefully chosen jewellery from Dalgleish Diamond Jewellers, its a look that many Brides will be inspired by. Makeup by Simone Penberth and and hair by The Alcove were on point and couldn’t be faltered.

A really neat feature was the Little Liberty ice-cream cart, and a great idea for couples to include for their day.

My personal favourite spot was the pool, and another reason why we chose this venue. Reid, the Groom and Leticia looked a little bit cool, chilling at the bar and gave an edgy feel compared to the rest of the setting. This reminds me of the importance of a great venue or location. Somewhere that has a few different spots, and can add a real diversity to the photos after the fact.

For the flowers we wanted, light, airy, whimsical blooms. In buttery and white shades. Being November, it was peak peony season, so we made the most of these stunning New Zealand flowers. We also incorporated fluffy sweet peas, garden roses, ornithogalums, canterbury bells and chamomile. A loose bouquet with plenty of dainty flowers tied in well with the strapless gown. The hand-dyed silk ribbon from Feathers and Stone mirrored the soft tuille sleeves, and floated with the breeze.

A styled shoot is not merely about creating beautiful imagery; it's about inspiring others. Our collaborative effort sought to inspire couples seeking a wedding that harmonizes with New Plymouth’s and New Zealand’s nature and beauty. From the choice of colours to the intricate details, we aimed to spark the imagination of those envisioning their special day.

In conclusion, being involved was an exciting process and a delight to see come about after much planning. It was a testament to the magic that unfolds when passionate individuals converge with a shared vision.
